Beth recently worked with Senior Consultant Richard Halpin from The Difference Card’s Northeast Team to help a non-profit social services organization to reduce their health insurance spend by -20%, worth over $550,000 in net annual savings on a guaranteed basis. This organization employs over 100 service workers in the Bronx and was spending $2 Million on their health insurance program. After receiving a 15% renewal this year, Beth worked closely with Rich from the Difference Card and their local carrier team at Emblem to find a plan design solution that would not only reduce their costs, but also improve the benefit structure for their staff. Beth was able to negotiate over a -30% decrement with the carrier to reduce their fixed costs by one million dollars. In addition to the cost savings, Beth was able to improve the benefits for this employer using the Difference Card strategy. Since this employer was a non-profit, they needed a simple banking solution that resulted in fixed monthly payments for the program. Beth Sweeney has been in the employee benefits and health insurance industry for over ten years. After starting her career in the law industry, Beth moved to a large consulting firm to gain experience as an analyst in insurance. Beth quickly migrated to the Ruggieri Consulting Group, which was acquired by OneDigital. Beth has moved up through the ranks at OneDigital from Account Manager to Benefits Consultant.
