Metropolitan Transportation Authority Announces Fare and Toll Hikes for Spring 2019

March 22, 2019

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board has approved a round of fare and toll hikes for mass transit commuters.

The new rates will take effect on March 31, 2019 for tolls and on April 21, 2019 for fares. The MTA Board also announced the elimination of MetroCard bonuses for riders.

The MetroCard base fare will remain the same at $2.75, but commuters can expect to see a rise in weekly and monthly pass prices.

If you need to make changes to your Difference Card Commuter Account elections, please speak to your HR or Payroll Administrator.
